Brett Williams Award
How do you define a leader? We define a leader as someone who can see how things can be improved and who rallies people to move toward that better vision. Leaders can work toward making their vision a reality while putting people first. Leadership is about motivation through empathy and connection with people
Brett Williams defined leadership. He knew how to make every single person he talked to feel important and empathized with every word that came out of their mouth. He worked hard to be the best player and teammate he could be on the field and he worked even harder to be the best person and man that God wanted him to be off the field.
When choosing to commit to the University of South Carolina as a sophomore, he said "I chose them because I felt that was the place where I could have the greatest impact on people". Inspiring people was what Brett did best. Brett Williams passed way on January 17, 2017 due to complications with the flu. He will forever be in our hearts and minds.
We are proud to present the 2021 Brett Williams Award to Chase Horst
